The following articles are the ones I prepared for the lesson on taking source photographs.pdf and photographing artwork V&V.pdf. Click on these two underlined items to get to the articles. (unfortunately, it may be raining real hard, in which case we will cancel the paint out ... rain water and watercolors don’t seem to work too well together. Oh well, at least we could take source photographs!)

The following is a prospectus on what I will be talking about.

This presentation will help in working your way through the jumble of stuff we see through the camera lens and how to capture that compositionally cool shot. A set of guidelines, templates and information will be creatively presented to help with developing a photographic imaginative “eye” and capability to “capture” that great photograph. This will be approached from an artistic aspect of photography and less on the technical aspect. Emphasis will be placed upon the concept of always being in development with regards to our photography.

The session will explore:
•	Seeing and connecting with the location to capture the photograph
•	Composition and how to resourcefully translate what the eye sees to what can be photographed.
•	Ingenious uses of the Principles and Elements of artistic design
•	Imaginative ideas to center your photography to the subject at hand

By the end of the session, participants will:
•	Have some useful guidelines to use next time they bring a camera up to their eye.
•	Have a list of source material and books for further development
•	Have a handout of key points to take with them.

More on the convention can be found at the 4C’s web site

He did have some wonderful photographs which he showed before dinner. After the show, the wife exclaimed,” Those were fantastic photos, you sure must have some expensive camera equipment.”

They then adjourned to a wonderful dinner prepared by the wife who was a very good cook. After the dinner, the photographer leaned back, wiped his hands and said, What a great meal, you must have some really expensive pots and pans.”

Look folks, it is not the cost of the equipment that makes most of the difference. It is the ability to see an image and then capture it.
